Hi everyone, my name is Stu Helm, oh you knew that already, it’s in big letters at the top of the page, oh and the URL, so you’re one step closer to knowing who I am, well done! you win, err… a cuddly toy!

So about me, I’m 26 years old born on 15th December 1983 in the fantastic city (then town) of Preston, Lancashire, UK and now living with my family in Leeds, West Yorkshire, UK (if you want to stalk me even more you’ll have to look at my Twitter). I’d describe myself as a creative-type geek with a healthy dose of Apple fan-boyism thrown in for good measure.

I have an awesome younger sister, Jennie, who has just given birth to my nephew, Charlie, whom I adore and am turning him into a geek slowly but surely, ok so at the time of writing he’s only a week old, but still! Watch out for lots of photos of Charlie (and Jennie) in the Flickr stream, once she approves them of course!

What do I do, well right now not that much, I lost my job a few months ago and am currently looking for work, which is being combined with a sort of career refresh type thing, which leads me onto what I do with my ‘free time’

My major gig these days really is my podcasting, which I’ve been doing for nearly 3 years now, with about 150 episodes recorded in total, across two shows. Ideally I’d love to be able to take this full time, but I know from experience it’s very hard work and takes a long time to even break even on the hosting costs, that said I’d encourage anyone to go for it if you have something you’re passionate about and want to share with the world.

I also do a lot of creative stuff, I love photography and video production, designing presentations for my Church and for various speaker friends, something again I’d love to be able to take into a more full-time, money making, venture. It’s certainly on the cards, I’m working with a good friend of mine, Jason C Martin on a Church multimedia app, currently named ‘MacPresent’ which is, forgive the expression, our little baby!

Anyway, I guess that sums me up, feel free to explore the various parts of the site to find out more about my projects and passions!
